Now read Elle Croft's next twisty psychological suspense novel, The Other Sister.
To see what your friends thought of this book, Elle Croft is turning out to be a great writer of dark and deliciously twisted psychological thrillers. This is the first book by Sarah Zettel that I’ve read.
She's definitely an author I'll be reading again as I really liked this. The story line is well laid out and put together nicely.
Elle Croft was born in South Africa, grew up in Australia and moved to the UK in 2010 after travelling around the world with her husband. I especially liked the way the author began each chapter with musings on the original (and very scary) Grimm’s fairy tales. I gave up on this 9% in. Geraldine ran away from home to escape the craziness but she can't resist a request from her sister to come back for her nephew's graduation. Her novel Bitter Angels won the Phi.
I … really wanted to like this book.
Geraldine has come back home after running away twenty years ago when her mother mysteriously died. Had I not figured out the plot two-thirds of the way I’d have given it five stars.
Maybe Marie, the good sister, did it.
Marie on the other hand is known as the "good sister" who is raising her teenage son. I'm sure that other readers are really going to enjoy this novel. I certainly was not disappointed.

WOW,just WOW,The Other Sister is a mesmerising, mind blowing psychological thriller that has so many twists and turns that by the time I reached the surprising unpredictable conclusion I felt so dizzy that I thought I might need to go and lie down in dark room. This book was disturbing, unrealistic to much of every character being a total psycho.

To see what your friends thought of this book. What was suppose to be a. Wow! When she comes across a second body the police think that it is more than coincidence. Her employers need to reach new digital audiences in the fickle age of social media immediacy and Gina is sure much more could be done in this arena. But I still enjoyed reading it.
Everyone knows Lindsey is the good one, and Jessie is the bad one.
Two years later and Jessie is a completely different person.
I love a book that pulls you in, makes you laugh, makes you cry, that makes you want to murder someone evil.... not much laughter but well worth reading. Their mother was an alcoholic, and Geraldine spent a good deal of time taking care of her.
Sarah Zettel is the critically acclaimed author of more than twenty novels, spanning the full range of genre fiction. I love the way Elle Croft plots a book, nothing is a given and a bit like Fox Mulder you are probably better off if you trust no-one. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Sounds pretty sinister, right?
Gina is incredibly thankful when a personal reference from her new boyfriend lands her an assistant position role in a television production company. Absolutely heartbreaking and realistic telling of a broken young woman and the disgusting, horrible things she endured.
This brings her notoriety of a type she wasn’t expecting and doesn’t want. Which means we are told what is going on in the mind of four of the main characters throughout the story, and ultimately what we are specifically told by one of them is untrue. The writing is succinct, creating characters one feels strongly about, intertwined in a very twisted crime.
There were so many twists and turns to manuver through. A really good read that keeps you entertained and glued to the page. This author kept me guessing all the way through, I had questions and questions and guess what MORE questions! I listened to the Audible narrated version of this book. I wasn't sure at the beginning if I'd get on with it but once I remembered who was narrating each portion I managed just fine.....though I'm not saying I didn't need to flick back a few times to check who I was. I've left out some majore pieces on purposes because I really would recommend everyone to go out and read this book. All the characters seemed a bit shallow and cliche, as did the story.
Welcome back. I absolutely loved Elle. She is a practicing psychologist and has first-hand experience with birth-family reunions. I'll admit, I almost stopped reading this book b/c at times it felt like it was taking too long, to get to a point.
Or are the secrets they keep from each other to great for them to work together? The Other Sister was twisty brilliant, a pleasure to read with surprises around every corner and some truly memorable characters. One thing is sure, nothing is at it seems in this book. A raw, gritty, tragic, emotional story! One is a chaos while the other is in order. I highlighted quite a bit of those as they were not just clever but memorable. Gina is a warm, friendly character who is trying to find her way back into the world of TV after moving back into her London family home after a successful decade in Sussex and yet, she is struggling quite a lot.
It's a bit hard to say if I liked it or not.
Overall, it opens your eyes to the pain of an individual and the coping mechanisms involved. The General can't stand Jessie whom he is physically abusive to because she can't do anything rig. This was a beautiful yet gut wrenching story! Refresh and try again. But what no one seems to want to realize is why she is labeled as such. I kept reading because I convinced myself it would all make sense at the end. Gina is a warm, friendly character who is trying to find her way back into the world of TV after moving back into her London family home after a successful decade in Sussex and yet, she is struggling quite a lot. This, like many other books by relatively unknown authors, had a lot of great reviews. A huge plan that is 20 years too late in my opinion but a plan nonetheless. The father, Martin, was cruel and controlling. She, Lindsey is even following in her father's footsteps by being in the military.
And by all means, no fault of her own. One, the blond, blue eyed,is perfect. Reckless and troubled, she ran away shortly after the mysterious death of their mother twenty years ago. But is that true?
But then, one of the MCs did something that made no sense to me at all. About how their father poisoned their life, not to mention their mother's life.
In 1996 the pet cat of the three children is found brutally murdered literally on their back door step. Geraldine is titled as the "bad sister" and ran away after the death of her mother. Gina’s end goal of working in front of the camera rather than behind it however seems to be annoyingly always just out of reach.
It's a really touchy subject to write about but I think the author did a good job. C.L.
